What is The Protectors Circle?
The Protector’s Circle is the Children’s Advocacy Center’s annual leadership giving campaign. Through the Protector’s Circle, the Children’s Advocacy Center is able to directly fund our four core programs and meet the increasing need for our services. The Protector’s Circle is comprised of compassionate individuals and organizations who are choosing to support the fight against childhood abuse.
Why should you become a Protector?
The mission of The Children’s Advocacy Center is to reduce the trauma experienced by sexually abused children by providing services to them in a nurturing, friendly and safe environment.
In 2016, over 700 children relied on the services of the Children’s Advocacy Center. In 2022, that number will be over 1,000. Through proper funding efforts, we expect to serve every single child who needs our services. The full suite of services provided by CAC of the Bluegrass costs $1,200 per child. This is money well spent, as the cost of untreated childhood trauma averages $800,000 over the course of the lifetime of a survivor of childhood abuse.
The Children’s Advocacy Center relies on the generosity of Central Kentuckians to support our mission. All of our services are provided at no cost to children and families that need them. Becoming a Protector means you are choosing to support an often unrecognized and underserved population, child victims of sexual abuse. Through your gift, the Children’s Advocacy Center can effectively help and heal these children and their families.
